Personal Statement
I am Dennis Sanchez, I play Left Back for De Anza Force U19 Elite, and I am in the class of 2021. I was born in San Francisco, CA and have lived here my entire life. Growing up I was always told and shown that you need to work for what you want to achieve in life. I would describe myself as open-minded, mature, disciplined, motivated, funny, and caring. I also have good communication skills. For these reasons, I believe I am a natural born leader both on and off the field. I have learned through soccer that there are many ways to better myself.
My strengths on the field are my… physicality. I am a defender who loves going into tackles. Anticipation. I’m always trying to be a step ahead of the attackers. Speed and endurance. This is something I worked up over the years and improved drastically. I’m also attacking-minded, I love to go up and cross or get a shot off. Another is field awareness, I’m always scanning the field and looking to see where the best position for me is. However, what separates me the most is my work-ethic. When I am on the field there is nobody that will out work me and that is the mindset I have day in and day out. My biggest goal on the field is to become a professional soccer player and reach the highest level. Off the field, I would like to study Nursing and become a registered nurse for pediatrics. I believe that finding a school that fits both my academic and athletic purposes is key as they are both fundamental components of my growth as a person.
